Baby Josephine turns one!
Josie’s parents reached out to me last month to start planning her first birthday photoshoot. We brainstormed some ideas, from bonfires to pink florals. After throwing out ideas, we landed with the idea for a teepee birthday cake smash. The session was at Hidden Hallow Farm in Crawfordsville, Indiana. This venue is where Josie’s parents said I do, and the place I got to capture that special day. Their venue contract stated they could use the premises for life, so it was the perfect place for Josie’s first birthday photoshoot.
The weather was a typical gloomy fall day with the slightest breeze, but we still had the vibrant fall leaves clinging to the trees. After a couple of family photos to warm up the session, Megan and I set up for Josie’s cake smash.
We decided to set up by the ceremony aisle area. First, the teepee went up, then the scattered balloons, and finally, the naked cake made by Megan’s friend. As soon as Josie sat down, her hand reached for the cake, and the biggest grin spread over her face. She absolutely loved the icing and kept coming back for more!
