Sydney knew that Evan was the one she wanted to spend the rest of her forever with way back in their time together in 8th grade. Evan knew Syd was the one when he purchased her engagement ring when they were college freshmen. 9 years together, and they finally got to tie the knot and say I do, becoming Mr. and Mrs. Finke last night in Columbus, Indiana.
These two were beautifully made for each other. Sydney and Evan are always laughing together, and you can see the love they have for each other from miles away. Their wedding day was nothing short of perfect and so uniquely theirs. We had the most adventurous wedding day, from the family barn reception to first dances with "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" playing in the background to stopping traffic for wedding photos.
I could say so much more about these two, but the maid of honor said it best in her speech.
"50: 50 years from now, it will be 2070. I hope by this time, COVID will be gone. You will be celebrating your 50th wedding anniversary. It will feel as if this day was only yesterday. You will be surrounded by those who love you most, including your children and grandchildren. We all can’t wait to see what the next 50 years have in store for you two.
20:It’s 2020, how could I not include this number. Hopefully, this ticket brings you more luck than the year 2020 has.
10: Your anniversary month. This number represents the number of times Syd will say “Evaaannnnnnn” when he falls asleep during a movie or show. I know we can all hear Syd saying it.
9: The amount of years you have been together. Some of us learned at Syd’s shower that she knew you were the one for her back in 8th grade, Evan did you? Never forget those first-time feelings you felt back in 8th grade and every emotion you felt along the way to where you are now.
3: Your anniversary day. This number represents the minimum number of times you should remind each other that you love them each day. Whether that be by a hug, kiss, or sweet text during the day, the minimum is 3.
1: During your lifetime together, you will have your good times and bad times, but the great thing about marriage is that you will always have that ONE person to comfort you, support you, and most importantly, love you unconditionally. Always."
